Ingredients

  • 1 pc Unicurd Taukwa
  • 20g black fungus, soaked
  • 2pcs water chestnuts
  • 1 pc white cabbage
  • 1 whole egg
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 stalk spring onion, finely diced
  • 2 tsp chili bean paste
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, grated

Seasoning

  • 3 tbsp soybean oil
  • 1/2 tbsp black soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp black vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp corn flour (mix with 1 tbsp water)

Cooking Instructions

Cut taukwa, fungus, water chestnut and white cabbage into strips.

Mix the shredded ingredients together with the egg.

Heat 2 tbsp soybean oil, fry mixture until golden brown on both sides. Dish up tofu patty.

Heat up remaining oil, sauté grated ginger, garlic and chilli bean paste.

Add in chicken stock and sauce ingredients.

Put in fried tofu patty, simmer well, then add corn starch to thicken the gravy.

Sprinkle with spring onion and serve.

Hot Tips

Bean paste maybe used instead of chili bean paste, and vegetable stock instead of chicken stock.
